I’m living in the winter of my life.
I have to slow down, as do all things in winter.
I have to pay attention to my steps.
There is snow on the mountain.
It is much quieter than my younger days.
I stay inside more, reading as the hours tick away.
A blanket lays across my lap as a blanket of snow covers the ground.
My days are shorter, not as bright.
Gray skies obscure the sunshine.
But, there are still bright days and clear crisp nights.
When the sun is ablaze and the stars shine bright.
I have run my race.
I now watch others and cheer them on.
I am content to be at peace with my memories.
