DISTRICT 6 MINUTES, 3-23-19
- The Kansas Authors Club District 6 meeting was at 1:30 p.m., March 23, 2019, at the Hutchinson Community College Student Union, room #10, downstairs. 22 members and guests were welcomed by Jim Potter, President.
- People in the room introduced themselves and (those who wanted to) told a little about their writing interests.
- Minutes of the previous meeting were read.
- The treasurer reported account activity and a balance of $3,693.05
- Announcements were made and handouts were provided for those present. (Note: this is an opportunity to promote your writing progress, successes, discoveries, and/or publication to an encouraging group.)
- The speaker was Jim Potter, author of Cop in the Classroom, Lessons I’ve Learned, Tales I’ve Told, and Taking Back the Bullet, Trajectories of Self-Discovery. His topic was Memoir Writing. His inspiring and informative Power Point program told about his personal journey and choices involved in writing his memoir, Cop in the Classroom. He offered encouragement, options and tips for how to create your own memoir.
