District 6 will meet from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018 on the campus of Hutchinson Community College in the Parker Alumni Room in the Parker Student Union building at 1300 North Plum, Hutchinson, Kansas 67501.
Our speaker will be Rhonda Miller, current state president of the Kansas Authors Club and author of three books of poetry. She will lead a workshop, "Writing Your Trauma Without Too Much Drama". She presented this at the Kansas Authors Club 2017 State Convention in Coffeyville.
This workshop encourages participants to talk about trauma(s) they have experienced by using a variety of writing styles such as prose, poetry, memoir, letter writing, journaling, etc.
If you like, please bring items you’ve written to share with the group. The workshop will discuss the importance of sharing individual voices and personal experiences as a means of healing and giving others permission to speak.
